Athletic events postponed — again — due to inclement weather

All six basketball games on athletic slate for Jan. 2 scrapped

The year 2014 has started out much the same way 2013 ended: With the postponement of several high school varsity sporting events due to inclement weather.

All six basketball games on the slate for Thursday, Jan. 2 have been postponed, including Searsport's games with Penobscot Valley of Howland, Belfast's games with Gardiner and Medomak Valley's contests with Lincoln Academy of Newcastle.

The Searsport Viking boys and girls games with the Howlers have been moved to separate dates. The Searsport boys will play PVHS on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 3:30 p.m., while the Searsport girls will play PVHS on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Both games will be at Searsport District High School.

The Medomak Valley Panther boys and girls games with the Eagles have been moved to Monday, Jan. 6, with the girls set to tip off at 5 p.m. and the boys at 6:30 p.m. Both games will be at Lincoln Academy.

The Belfast Lion boys and girls games with the Tigers have been moved to Wednesday, Jan. 22, with the girls set to tip off at 3:30 p.m. and the boys at 5 p.m. Both games will be at Gardiner Area High School.
