‘ARTicipation!’ student show at CMCA

Rockport — The opening celebration for “ARTicipation!” —the annual pre-season community celebration of student creativity and art from the Five Town Community School District and local private and preschools — will take place Saturday, April 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, 162 Russell Ave.

The opening will include activities, a photo booth and snacks. The “ARTicipation!” will be remain on view through April 27, Thursdays through Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Participating schools and programs this year include Appleton Village School (K-8), Ashwood Waldorf School, Camden Hills Regional High School, Camden Rockport Elementary School, Camden-Rockport Middle School, Camden Rockport Middle School Horizons Art Program, Children's House Montessori School, Hope Elementary School (K-8), Lincolnville Central School (K-8), Peopleplace Cooperative Preschool, Riley School and Wayfinder Schools.

CMCA is grateful for donations from Fresh Off the Farm, Hannaford in Rockland and Camden, Shaw's, State of Maine Cheese Company and Walmart for the opening celebration.
