Rockland — Coastal Children's Museum is offering art workshops through the beginning of August, led by Bard College student Johnny Cherichello. The one-hour workshops are included with museum admission and take place twice daily Tuesdays through Fridays, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Written Arts and Art History double major proposed the idea of art workshops to CCM and applied for a Community Action Award from Bard College's Center for Civic Engagement. Each week has a theme and within each week, Tuesdays are devoted to a children's book; Wednesdays to an artist or art movement in history; and Thursdays to the natural world.

“Fridays are reserved for fun, experimental, wacky and messy art workshops,” said Cherichello.

The museum is located at Sharp’s Point South, 75 Mechanic St. For more information, call 596-0300 or visit coastalchildrensmuseum.org. Individual workshops and their themes are listed on the CCM Facebook page under Events.
