Dec 03, 2012
The Friends of Maine’s Seabirds gallery in Rockland hosts work by five artists including Karl Gerstenberger, whose work is pictured.

Rockland — The Friends of Maine’s Seabirds has added two new community members to its board of directors. Both Scott Hess of Elliott and MacLean and Ted Skowronski of ChelTed Studios were unanimously confirmed to the board. Everyone is invited to stop by the gallery at 9 Water St. during the last Rockland Art Walk for 2012 Friday, Dec. 7, to see what the organization is up to and meet members.

The gallery is host to five artists, and a portion of all sales goes to support the mission of the Friends group. Beginning at 5 p.m. for the Friday art walk, a new show will be on display until January. The Visitor Center hours are normally weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but it will be open for the at walk until 8 p.m. Friends of Maine’s Sea is across from Boston Financial and Sweets & Meats; there will be light refreshments.

Friends of Maine’s Sea also encourages art walkers to be part of the second annual silent auction to benefit Arts in Rockland and Rockland Main Street. Auction items are displayed and in-person bids can be placed at Yvette Torres Fine Art, 21 Winter St.; or online at artsinrocklandauction.org.
