Waterville — The 24th Maine Open Juried Art Show had its opening and award presentation March 25 at the Waterville Public Library. The juried show, co-sponsored by the Waterville Area Art Society and Waterville Main Street, runs through April 26.

Rockland’s Art Space Gallery artists are well represented at the show. Six gallery artists were juried in: Sandra Leinonen Dunn and Pamela Hetherly in the oil painting category; Penny Markley for acrylics; Kay Sullivan and Janalee Welch for pastels; and Judith Herman in the watercolor category. Sullivan won third place for her pastel painting “Signs of Spring.” Judith Herman’s watercolor “Ladies in White” won honorable mention.

Art Space Gallery members are looking forward to the 2014 season opening in May. The gallery invites to public to visit during First Fridays and meet all of its gallery artists. Art Space Gallery is on Main Street, across from the Strand Theatre.
