April children's activities at Thomaston library

Rockland — Various activities are planned for April in the children's room at Thomaston Public Library. All activities begin at 11 a.m.

Thursday, April 3 — Visitors will make tissue paper flowers, planting flowers in cups, and reading "Circle of Seasons," by Gerda Muller.

Thursday, April 10 — Let’s Go Fly a Kite! Little craft kites, fly kites, and read about kites in "Curious George Flies a Kite."

Thursday, April 17 — Make handprint flamingos and read the award-winning "Flora and the Flamingo," by Molly Idle.

Thursday, April 22 — Meet an animal from the Knox County Humane Society as Tracy Sala and friends visit the library and read a story about pets.

Thursday, April 23 — Join in on Wednesday of April vacation week to learn about things that float and experience some buoyancy fun.

Thursday, April 24 — Experience songwriting first hand as David Hynd of Playin’ Possum band does a musical workshop in the kids’ room.

Friday, April 25 — Join Jess Day and Megan Rogers of Midcoast Music Together as participants sing and dance and learn, starting at 11a.m.
