Appleton Historical Society News

The annual potluck supper hosted by Appleton Historical Society will be Monday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m., at Appleton Library, 2916 Sennebec Road in Appleton. Please bring a dish to share with others. If history is any indicator, the food will be excellent and the humor good! Please note the early starting time for the potluck.

Appleton Historical Society's annual meeting will follow the potluck at 7 p.m., and will include the election of officers for 2013.

The evening's program will follow that, and begin as close to 7:30 as possible. Sid Quarrier will present Landscapes and Geology of Midcoast Maine. Sid will explore the major landscape features of Midcoast Maine and discuss the ways in which the area's geologic history formed today's coastline and landscape. He will show slides to illustrate his presentation.

Bring a friend! Remind a neighbor! We'd like a large turnout for the potluck supper and program and we need a large turnout for the annual meeting.

Kindly bring a plate and place setting for yourself for the potluck.

Watch your mailbox during the last week of January for Appleton Historical Society's Annual Newsletter, to be mailed about Jan. 28.

Now is the time to renew your membership for 2013! At only $5 per person, it remains a bargain. Your paid membership helps preserve Appleton's past for future generations. Lifetime memberships are only $100 per person. Contributions of time, money, and historical items gratefully accepted.
