Deer Foot Farm

Deer Foot Farm has a nice little farm stand set up. In case you haven’t noticed, the farm is on Route 131 in Appleton, right before Sennebec Campground. I love driving by and admiring the different flower displays they have. You should stop by and check it out!

Appleton library news

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. author Kay Stevens will be at Appleton library. She is a Midcoast Maine author whose latest cyberbullying prevention book "Cyberslammed," just launched this fall under the sponsorship of Time Warner Cable. Coinciding with Maine’s first cyberbullying law enacted this summer, which requires schools to implement policies to address bullying/cyberbullying, the book informs parents and educators of six specific cyberbullying tactics kids are using (including sexting and anonymous aggression) and how to understand, prevent, combat and transform each tactic. The take-away lessons for parents and educators of teens fifth to twelfth grade are timely and highly informative and teens this age are more than welcome to attend. The book will be available for purchase. For more information go to cyberslammed.com or call Appleton library at 785-5656, or visit its website at appleton.lib.me.us.
