Appleton Historical Society News
The April meeting of Appleton Historical Society is Monday, April 7. Ted and Anne Johnson, longtime residents of Appleton, will discuss growing up in Appleton. Ted was born in North Appleton, and he and Anne have lived here all their married life. They have seen people and buildings come and go, and watched the broad open fields of earlier days grow up to forest. Theirs is a long perspective on this town that not many of us have. Come and join them for an evening of discussion. They will share some reminiscences and will welcome your participation in the conversation. Whether you are a longtime resident yourself, or a newcomer, it promises to be an interesting evening.
The meeting will be in the evening of Monday, April 7, at the Mildred Stevens Williams Library, 2916 Sennebec Road in Appleton Village. It will begin with a short business meeting at 7 p.m., and the evening's program is expected to begin about 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served following the program. The public is welcome.
Don't forget the Cemetery Cleanup Day on May 3 and the AHS Plant Sale on May 10 at the library!
