Mark your calendars! Saturday, March 8, at 11a.m., the Chewonki foundation will present their "Predators" Program in the Community Meeting Room. This program is recommended for age 7 and older. See predators in the context of food webs and natural cycles! Explore attitudes toward predators and reasons for their decline throughout history because of habitat loss and human interference! Discuss current events that emphasize the importance of predators in maintaining the world’s ecological balance. See Chewonki’s mounted coyote and meet three live, non-releasable predators!
Appleton Library is seeking a Part-Time (10 hours per week) Library Coordinator to work with the Board of Trustees and volunteers to supervise programs and services at the Appleton Library. We are seeking a professional who is well organized, can communicate with a variety of people, and has excellent computer skills. The candidate will need to supervise a staff of volunteers, maintain records and submit reports, write grants and catalog books, update our website, and plan events and programming. There will be no school Friday, March 14, due to a teacher’s workshop.
The next School Committee meeting will be March 17 at 6 p.m. in the AVS Library. All are welcome to attend these meetings.
Five-Town Little League
Registration is now open for Five-Town Little League. Camden, Rockport, Hope, Appleton and Lincolnville is now Five-Town Little League. Please visit our website; http//:crll.sportsoffice.com to register your child for baseball, softball, or tee ball teams. The website will give you important information regarding, March clinics, league information, and how to register.
Don't wait too long. Clinics for majors begin next week, and you need to be registered to join. Registration ends March 22 for majors and April 1 for minors/tee ball. Appleton residents will receive a full scholarship for registration fees. Please select "scholarship" when registering....thanks to the Jeff Landwehr Memorial.
