Appleton Library News

Stop by to browse our selection of gently used books and movies and start checking off your gift list! We are currently looking for a second staff volunteer for the first Thursday night of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. The library is also in need of a second staff member on Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m., this shift could be broken down in to 1 or 2 hour increments — the full three hours is not a necessity. This is an important shift since it provides an opportunity for AVS students to take the bus to the library after school, but if we are unable to find additional volunteers, we will need to close the library on Wednesdays. Please consider taking on one or more Wednesday shifts each month so that we can continue to offer open hours to our community.

If you have an interest in offering a Wednesday afternoon student activity (book group, Lego club, homework help, drama, board games, crafts, etc.), please contact the library to discuss the possibilities! If you have a mature middle school or high school student who is interested in volunteer experience, please encourage him/her to donate some time on Wednesdays!

Our third annual Cookies and Caroling event will be Sunday, Dec. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. Drop by to enjoy some cookies and cocoa, and visit and sing with your neighbors! All ages are welcome.
