Library News

Thanks so very much to all who contributed a chocolate or chili dish and attended the library's first Chili and Chocolate Challenge at Appleton Village School Oct. 19.  The event was a great success with more than $450 raised to benefit the library.  Graine O'Neil and Ella Williams won first prize for their delicious chili dish and Victoria Bucklin won first prize for her decadent Chocolate Irish Stout Cake; both winners graciously donated back their cash prize(s) to the library. Attendees enjoyed a dinner of top-notch chilis and desserts with delicious breads donated by Market Basket of Camden.  We hope you will consider attending this fun event next year!

Growing season has come to a close, but the Appleton Library Seed Catalog has its seed drawers open for your donation of end-of-harvest seeds. Please label all donations with the name of each varietal and harvest year and we will be happy to place them in envelopes for next year's growing season.  If you did not take advantage of our seed catalog this year, please stop by in the spring for free garden seeds and growing tips.
