Annual chowder challenge hosted by RotaryWho makes the best chowder in the Midcoast?
Camden — Once again the West Bay Rotary Club is sponsoring their 18th annual Chowder Challenge during the 2013 Camden Windjammer Festival. Everyone is invited to come by to sample the chowder and cast their vote for the champion!
The challenge will take place on the Camden Public Landing on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission donation is $9 adults and $7 for children 12 and younger. There will be a lot of chowder, attendees are encouraged to come hungry.
Challenging for 2013 Chowder honors will be: Cappy’s Chowder House, Graffam’s Harborside Restaurant, Quarry Hill, Owls Head General Store, Cuzzy*s Restaurant, Pen Bay Medical Center, The Waterfront Restaurant and Wave Café at Camden Hills Regional High School. There may even be a few more surprise entrants after press time, so do stop by to find out! Tasters also will receive a complementary piece of cake for dessert.
Proceeds from the Chowder Challenge will be used by the West Bay Rotary Club to support their local civic charitable and nonprofit activities.
