Anderson and Friends play the Park
Warren — The Music in the Park series will host on afternoon with Ron Anderson and Friends playing wonderful old country music Sunday, Sept. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Woolen Mill Park on Main Street.
Anderson is a local musician who has played guitar since age 14. Mainly self-taught, he played with the band Hawaiian-aires in the 1950s and other local groups; and currently plays for dances with the Frye Mountain Band and, when in Florida, The Men in Black. He and his wife Kay also play for the church services and several nursing homes in the area.
Anderson has always had a love of music and string instruments, and this music will offer country, gospel and bluegrass. Playing and singing along with Anderson will be Dick Philbook, Kay Anderson, Burt Hendricks, Nancy Jones, Neil Stetson and Joe Aery.
Everyone is invited to bring along lawn chairs and enjoy an ice cream cone from the Ice Cream Wagon while listening to music along the river.
