Amalfi on the Water supports 'Eat for Pete's Sake'
Amalfi on the Water is among the 24 Midcoast restaurants who on Thursday will contribute to the Eat for Pete's Sake fundraiser sponsored by the Humane Society of Knox County.
The restaurant will donate a portion of its sales from both lunch (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and dinner (5 to 9 p.m.) to the humane society. This is the third year Amalfi on the Water has participated in the fundraiser, said general manager and co-owner Nancy Wood.
All proceeds go to help lost, abandoned and stray animals at the Humane Society shelter in Thomaston. "Pete," is actually Kiffin, a dog who this year represents the more than 1,200 animals that pass through the shelter each year.
