All teams still alive after early playoff games

Double-elimination tournament runs through early September

Rockland — The higher seeds have prevailed in most of the early games during the on-going double-elimination Elks Men's League Softball playoffs.

The postseason runs through early September. Games are played at the Elks Field on upper Rankin Street in Rockland and at the Bolduc Correction Facility in Warren.

The following are upcoming playoffs as well as scores of postseason games to this point.

Sept. 5 — No. 2 Boothbay Yacht (17-4) versus No. 6 Aflac (11-10).

Sept. 4 — No. 4 Smokestack Grille (12-9) versus No. 1 Mid-Knight Auto (20-1).

Sept. 3 — No. 8 McClean Plumbing and Heating (5-16) versus No. 7 New Leaf Construction (10-12); and No. 10 Back Cove Yachts (1-20) versus No. 9 BCF (4-18).

Aug. 29 — No. 2 Boothbay Yacht 12, No. 7 New Leaf Construction 11. (9 inns.)

Aug. 28 — No. 1 Mid-Knight 33, No. 9 BCF 9.

Aug. 27 — No. 5 Smokestack Grille 28, No. 4 Port Clyde Lobster (11-10) 16; and No. 6 Aflac 10, No. 3 Simmons Lobster Wharf (15-6) 7.

Aug. 26 — No. 9 BCF 14, No. 8 McClean Plumbing and Heating 8; and No. 7 New Leaf Construction 15, No. 10 Back Cove Yachts 6.
