Akers opens print exhibition

Jun 28, 2014
"Celebration" is among the three new limited edition prints from Gary Akers displayed and available at his Green Schoolhouse gallery in South Thomaston beginning Thursday, July 3.

South Thomaston — Gary Akers, an American master painter in egg tempera and watercolor, will hold a print exhibition Thursday, July 3, through the 18th at the Green Schoolhouse, a restored one-room Finnish school located two miles down the St. George peninsula on Route 131.

There will be six new prints in this exhibit, including "Celebration," "What's For Supper?" and "Apple Orchard." Each image is produced in small editions, signed and numbered by the artist. On a few of the prints, Akers has hand-painted an original watercolor on the right border, unique to each print and adding value.

The artist will be present each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to meet visitors and to personalize the prints. For more information, call (859) 250-0278 or visit GaryAkers.com.
