A day in the life of a schooner captain
Rockport — The Friends of the Rockport Public Library continue the Seafaring Series with a presentation on Thursday, Nov. 1.
We’ve all watched the proud schooner fleet of Midcoast Maine ply the waters of Penobscot Bay, but ever wondered what it’s like to be the captain of one of these vessels? Aaron Lincoln of the schooner Olad will tell all.
Lincoln, a local Mainer born in Rockland, has logged more than 100,000 miles in Penobscot Bay alone, so he knows the area well. In addition to the Maine coast, he has also sailed the Florida Keys, British Virgin Islands, Nova Scotia, Bermuda, St. Martin, and the waters of Boston and Cape Cod.
The presentation will be at the downstairs meeting room of the Rockport Opera House at 7 p.m.
The Seafaring Series is open to the public and free, although donations are welcome.
