A-cat-emy awards under way at shelterPope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County
The envelope, please. All month long we are having our own A-CAT-EMY awards celebration. Now, through Saturday, March 1 pick a special A-cat-emy awards envelope to reveal your discounted adoption fee on any adult cat from 50 to 100 percent off. And that's not all. The first 20 adopters will get a bag filled with goodies for your new star. Find your own leading man or leading lady at the humane society. There is no better time to introduce a new star into your family cast of characters. A short list of the nominees are Bok Choy, Big Baby, Cheeky, and Tai Pai. We have a wonderful group of supporting characters waiting in the wings hoping to win...a place in your heart.
What's the best day of the week to eat cake? Wednesdays, of course, at the Atlantic Baking Company in Rockland. Each Wednesday they will donate half the proceeds from every cake and 50 cents from every cupcake purchased to help homeless animals at PMHSKC. Now that's sweet!
On Friday night stop by Yappy Hour at In Good Company in Rockland for a drink and a nibble of something scrumptious to eat from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and they will donate ten percent to the shelter. Thanks In Good Company.
February is Spay/Neuter Awareness month and the shelter will be busy promoting the benefits of spaying and neutering not only to promote good health in your pet but to curb the overpopulation of unwanted pets in our community. If you are in need of assistance to have your pet spayed/neutered, we can help. Please call the shelter at 594-2200. We will be at Pet Quarters on World Spay Day, Feb. 25, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to share information and resources. Then, join us for dinner on the 25th at Applebees from 4 to 9 p.m. and a portion of the night's sales will go toward our spay/neuter fund. You need to present a special coupon to activate the donation, available at the shelter, Loyal Biscuit, Free Press or printed from home visit hskcme.org.
