Home repair assistance seminar
0Camden — The Mid Coast Housing Coalition in collaboration with Penquis CAP and The First NA Bank is sponsoring an informational seminar for lenders in the Knox County area.
MCHC boardmember Bonnie Lash of the First came up with the idea in a recent meeting. She was expressing the frustration she was having trying to help some of her customers who were faced with sudden home repair needs that they could not afford. When other Coalition members mentioned several State and Federal programs that were available to those who qualified, the idea of the seminar was born. Kevin Washburn, President of Mainestream Finance, a division of Penquis CAP has put together an information packed program that will cover Weatherization Service, Central Heating Improvement Plan (CHIP), Home Repair Network, Elderly Hardship Grants, Budget Counseling, Home replacement , Homebuyer Education, and Small Business Programs.
The program is being held at the Lord Camden Inn on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 between 9 and 11 a.m. Anyone interested should contact Bonnie Lash of the First at 236-8700, Ext. 2607.
