Good Tern Natural Foods Co-Op May art exhibit
0Rockland — The Good Tern Natural Foods Co-Op cafe art exhibit for May are works by member Deborah Winship, who moved to coastal Maine from Connecticut in 1974 and has been painting since then. Her work often reflects her environment.
Presently she has a gallery near Rockland harbor and many of her more recent images portray the comings and goings there in acrylic, oil stick, and sometimes watercolor.
In 1980 Downeast magazine selected Deborah's acrylic of Warren Village for their September cover. She has done many commissioned paintings of small businesses and homes, as well as a cover for Airplay, 2 Warren town reports, and 6 covers for the Damariscotta Chamber Brochure, which were all made into popular prints. In '91 and '92 her work was chosen as the Schooner Day posters. Also, in '91 The Rockport Centennial used her watercolor of the opera house for their poster, and this year Bay Chamber Concerts has selected this image for a card.
Deborah did the Lobster Festival poster for '05 and '06, and has developed her own line of cards and posters, which are sold locally. Deborah has shown in galleries throughout Maine, and her work is in many private, corporate and government collections.
