Friends,

I am very pleased to say that Ronda Dale will be my special musical guest on tonight's show. Many of you may have heard Ronda when she was on the show a few weeks ago with her friends the Integalactic Yurt Band. And to add to the event, some members of the Yurt Band may be here to accompany her!

Ronda is a singer, songwriter and musician of immense talent and has a wonderful spark of enthusiasm that is evident when she is performing. Ronda has provided me with the following humorous piece that describes her diverse musical influences:

originals & covers

Patsy Cline, Peggy Lee and Willie Nelson threw a party. John Prine, Nanci Griffith, Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch were honored guests, all riding together and picking up Jerry Jeff, Steve Earle, Bonnie Raitt and Michelle Shocked on the way.  Emmylou & Dolly decorated while Linda dj'd for a while. The Carpenters show up barefoot and a little tipsy; Sonny & Cher, Mac Davis and BJ Thomas had been there but left early. Rosemary Clooney and both Fats's danced to the Aretha, Mavis, Billie & Etta LPs stacked on the stereo while Willie Dixon played along on his upright and Satchmo circled 'round greeting & eating appetizers.  The Carter Family played their tunes in a corner while Ray Charles, Guy Clark, Lyle Lovett and Dr. John played cards in a back room, betting that Julie London, Shirley Horn and Joe Cocker would make an appearance before the night was over. Tom Waits crashed around in the basement, coming up now and again when fried chicken was being served. Everyone had a blast, and the party continues...

Please join us on Monday night for what promises to be a show full of wonderful music! And, I'm also pleased to report that the streaming/buffering issues that have plagued the on-line broadcast of the past couple of shows have been resolved.
