Before you read Jake's poetry would like to share that he led a group of the CIA (Christians In Action) today as we got out of the four walls and made a difference in our community by cleaning up Sandy Beach and trimming the hedges and bamboo.  There were several different faith communities represented; along with some trustees from Knox Jail. The interaction built relationships while getting the job done.

4 Walls by Jake Barbour

Inside the 4 walls with our hands in the air

Complete with our anointed, purpose driven lives

Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, God Almighty

All while abortion is the rule

Drugs are the norm

Fathers on the lam, mothers all alone

Schools off limits as is the town square

But we can stand inside our 4 walls with our hands in the air

Complete with our anointed, purpose driven lives

Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, God Almighty Amen!

How long can it stand

Before we will stand with our hands in the air in the town square

In our schools

In our city hall

In our kids hall

Get out of the walls and into the halls

Get out of the 4 walls with your hands in the air and a cross on your chest

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely you must give.

That is the anointed, purpose driven life

Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, God Almighty! Amen!
