In a region this inspirational, transition was inevitable. What started as a little show 26 years ago for local two-dimensional artists has grown into an event as diverse, beautiful and popular as the outdoor venue that has served it for more than three decades.
The fall HarborArts Juried Arts & Crafts Show, hosted by the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce in Camden, Maine, returns for its 26th year on the weekend of September 29 & 30.
Roughly 80 artists and artisans will display, discuss and sell their work in a festive open marketplace nestled beside Penobscot Bay – the same land and seascapes that inspired Carol Sebold and three generations of Wyeth’s.
The show features an eclectic mix of established and emerging artists in a variety of disciplines, and grows more popular each year.
Patrons will find work that appeals to every taste and budget. Fine works in watercolor, oil, acrylics, and pastels blend with spectacular photography, sculpture and mixed media. High design jewelry, metal and woodcraft, pottery and exquisite furniture is also available.
Exhibitors line Camden’s Atlantic Avenue, spill into Harbor Park, and surround the adjacent Camden Amphitheatre – all overlooking a harbor that hosts a fleet of authentic windjammers.
Patrons will find the accommodations as diverse and elegant at the show itself. Historic inns and B & Bs provide an intimate lodging experience. Four-diamond restaurants offer the world’s best lobster and seafood fare. All are within minutes of the HarborArts exhibition area.
HarborArts has become the most spectacular, diverse and anticipated annual showcase in Maine. Inspiration is everywhere, and we invite you to join us.
