Thank You Historic Inns and Pies on Parade

By Connie Putnam | Feb 22, 2012

On behalf of the AIO board and on behalf of all the people who come to us for help, we want to commend the Mayor and City Council for recognizing, at the February 13th City Council meeting, the extraordinary contribution that Pies on Parade makes to AIO and to the Rockland community. AIO is a group of 11 very varied faith communities working together for a common goal of helping our neighbors. To do this we need support from the larger community. Pies on Parade is a huge part of what we do. It helps not only with financial support but gives us visibility and stature as well. Their support says that they believe in us and in our mission.

Pies on Parade is an illustration of what community should be. It exemplifies the concept that what benefits one of us, benefits all of us. If you don’t believe in miracles, then you have never been on the streets of downtown Rockland on a Sunday afternoon in late January to witness throngs of happy people each clutching a map in one hand and a fork in the other.

Thank you, Historic Inns of Rockland and Pies on Parade. You make us all proud of what we do and where we live.

Vice-President, Area Interfaith Outreach
