We were chosen by R.W. Apple at the New York Times (Wednesday, July 10, 2002) to be in the Dining Out section as: "Enduringly Yankee, with a Modern Twist" places to go if you're driving up the coast of Maine.
Our renowned fishcake recipe was featured in the December 1995 Gourmet Magazine "As You Like It" column. Downeast Magazine chose our Haddock Chowder as an exceptional dish and praised our many creative menu items. (April 1998).
"Get Real, Get Maine" sponsored by the Maine Department of Agriculture (2002) chose us for first place in their statewide "Menus of the Month" competition and chose our Wild Mushroom Hash recipe (2001) for it's use of ingredients harvested in Maine.
Serving a menu of wholesome foods for healthy appetites, we use ingredients supplied by local small farms and businesses, including produce, seafood, eggs, and vegetables. We also carry a fine selection of beer, wine, cocktails and fresh-brewed espresso and cappuccino. Look around when you're here -- Maine artists exhibit their work at our cafe.
We are recommended by Fodor's New England Guide, Explorer's Guide to Maine, Insider's Guide to Maine's Mid-Coast Maine Handbook and AAA.
