INFORMANTIONAL TALK ON YOGA THERAPY AT CAMDEN WHOLE HEALTH
Saturday January 21 at 6:00PM, join Erika Manning BFA, LMT, RYT for an informational talk about the use of yoga as medicine. There is a growing body of scientific evidence showing that yoga can be beneficial for an extremely wide variety of medical conditions. The therapeutic use of yoga can help people feel better on a daily basis, prepare for surgery, help in post operative recovery, and to live more fully and vibrantly with a chronic disease. The talk will explore a brief history of yoga, the benefits of a therapeutic practice, and why a yoga therapy session is different than a public yoga class. Erika will also discuss how yoga therapy can be used in conjunction with conventional medicine and other complimentary therapies. She will also facilitate some experiential exercises for participants. Erika Manning is a licensed massage therapist, polarity practitioner, and a registered yoga teacher. She teaches yoga in the midcoast area, and sees yoga therapy clients in Camden at Camden Whole Health, and in North Appleton at Blue Crow Studio. Erika has studied the therapeutic use of yoga for over a decade, and has used it very successfully as medicine in her own life. The informational talk is free and open to the public.
