The Swan's Island Educational Society celebrates the grand opening of the Swan's Island Library. The original Library was lost in 2008 to a structure fire and was rebuilt this year in part with funding from the United States Department of Agriculture-Rural Housing, and private donor's. Catalano's Construction, Inc. completed the construction of the new building with Stewart Brecher Architects, and the building committee for the Swan's Island Educational Society. The new building incorporates the use of natural light from the clerestory, hosts wireless connectivity for users, and boasts a cedar screen porch for patrons to gather and use the internet service.
